PFIZER COVID-19 Vaccines: available for children 5 years and older. 

  • if you'd like to schedule your child an appointment, please call the office. 

 

  • please do NOT share our appointment website on social media as our vaccine clinic is only open to existing patients at this time. This will help avoid barriers to our patients scheduling appointments. Please direct friends/families to contact their PCP to arrange for COVID-19 vaccination.

 

 

  • For 5-11 year olds: The dose of this vaccine is 10 mcg. This is 1/3 of the adult  Pfizer dose.This will be a 2-dose series. The 2nd dose will be given 21 days (or more) following the 1st dose. Children are considered fully vaccinated two weeks FOLLOWING the 2nd dose.

 

  • When the schedule opens, schedule only your FIRST dose at this time. We will schedule your second dose at the appointment for your first dose. 

 

  • if you are scheduling MORE than one child, please make an appointment for EACH child. If there is not availability for back-to-back appointments, that is OK. You may bring in all scheduled children at the time of your first appointment slot.

 

  • All vaccines will be given INSIDE our office in an exam room. All children/adults over the age of 2 are required to wear a mask at all times inside the office. Vaccines will be given in the arm. Children should wear a loose fitting t-shirt to facilitate access to the injection site. Please bring the number of adults you think are needed to help keep your child still for the injection. Please do not bring siblings unless absolutely necessary.

 

  • Do NOT give pain relievers/fever reducers (i.e. tylenol, motrin, acetaminophen, ibuprofen) PRIOR to the vaccine appointment. If your child experiences symptoms (arm soreness, fever) AFTER the injection, it is OK to give pain/fever reducing medication.

 

  • If you/your child is sick with any of the following symptoms, please cancel your child’s vaccine appointment via the website or by calling the office: temperature 100.4 F (38 C) or higher, runny nose, cough/congestion, sore throat, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache.

 

  • if you/your child has been exposed to COVID-19 within 14 days of your appointment, please cancel your child’s appointment.

 

  • if you/your child is infected with COVID-19 within 10 days of your appointment, please cancel your child’s appointment.

 

  • It is ok to proceed with regularly scheduled influenza and other routine immunizations before or after getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

When you arrive to the office:

  • Please enter the office only a few minutes PRIOR to your scheduled appointment time and remain in the waiting room until you are called. We want to minimize crowding of our waiting room. Masks required at all times.


What to do after the shot:

Following your child’s vaccine, you are required to wait for 15 minutes for observation. You will return to your car and wait in the parking lot for 15 minutes. You will keep track of the time. If there are any concerns with your child, please bring your child back into the office. Once 15 minutes has passed and if your child is feeling well, you may leave.
